Migration FAQ

Will I get to keep my theme?

Your theme cannot be transferred over directly, so you will have to redo any custom settings you have.

If you have a custom theme on a pre-existing WordPress.org installation, you will have to contact us to install the theme for you.

What do you need from me?

We will require admin access to your current WordPress.com/org blog. You will have to add us as a new "Administrator" user.

What is the process like?

  1. You purchase a hosting package and the WordPress.com/org Migration Add-On.
  2. We communicate with you via email to set up the necessary permissions (see above question), and agree on a migration date.
  3. When the migration date arrives, we will copy all your content over to Book Host.
  4. We will send you a link that contains information on how to transfer over your followers.

How long does the process take?

Once we begin the migration (after we've obtained access to your old WordPress blog), it takes about one hour to complete. However, this number can vary depending on your amount of posts and comments.

I want to use a different web host—can I still use this offer?

This free offer is only available for people hosting their WordPress sites with us. If you're using a different host, you can purchase a blog migration package for $99 from Nose Graze.
